Hello,

I've been trying to connect my wiimote to freetrack but i just keep failing. In my windows 8.1 control panel I connect the wiimote, Windows installs HID drivers and it says connected. But when I go to freetrack I can't press the start button.

Any advise?

as far as I know, the older types of wii-remote work with freetrack and not the newer ones.It also has to be a genuine Nintendo wii-remote.
In the latest version of freetrack(2008) they made it possible to use  bluetooth with a wii-remote.The pro's of it was that you used less resources of your pc because the remote did the most work. But now, with much more cpu power and ram that advantage is no more.I think a ps3-eye  works better now compare to using a wii-remote.
I tried years ago a wii-remote with freetrack but had a better result and less difficulties (=loosing connection)with a ms vx 3000 modified webcam.
I now use a ps3-eye with facetracknoir and it works great.A ps3-eye with freetrack can work but also sometime give problems.
If you have any questions regarding this all, feel free to ask :D

I did some testing and I don't think it's a freetrack issue, other wiimote software don't work either. Is it a windows 8.1 issue?

Doesn't work either. After enabling bluetooth discovery on my pc, I managed to start a test application. However, it still isn't stable (doesn't work a lot of the time) and freetrack never works.

Did you install both with admin rights?

I did install both of them with admin rights, it still doesn't work after I reinstalled my entire windows. Could it be the fact that my Bluetooth is onboard?
