are the 3 dots white? are you sure you selected the ps3eye camera in the source or do you have demo video? how many jitters do you have? are the dots at the right corner all green?

The 3 dots are red, and demo video is the only option available.  I am not sure what you mean by jitters - I am getting movement in all directions.  The dots at the right hand corner are alternating between green and red.

Try reinstalling the camera drivers, then download the fix linked at the first post.

Ok, The PS3 Camera is now available.

The 3 Camera dots are red and the dots in the lower right corner are red.  I have changed the Cam settings (in FreeTrack, not with CL Test on), and anything illuminated in the Camera screen is always red.

Problems remaining appear to be reflective-related - a glass window, although covered by 3 layers of  cloth, is behind me, and portions appear red like the camera dots.  The 9V battery and toggle switch attached to my other earphone are sometimes appearing as a red dot with a white cross.  I only had silver-coloured duct tape available to construct the model, so this may be reflecting light as well.

2 more questions:

- Under Cam - Calibration - is Focal Length the same as Pitch for an LED?  I have changed this setting to 2.5, so if this is wrong, what is setting I need?

- If I'm playing OFF, related to CFS3, What kind of profile do I setup?  I'm unable to create a profile index like others such as Flight Simulator 2004 under the Default Profile.

you need to adjust the threshold, rise it till you will see only the dots from your device, and the lower right corner dots are 3 green. Use a developed film on the lens camera to filter the visible light.

I painted reflective parts of the headset black, used black fabric to cover the 9V battery & toggle switch, and arranged the window covers to eliminate light.  The camera is now working in FreeTrack.  I will also try the developed film, although the IR filter was removed.

I need to know how to use the camera in Over Flanders Fields & Flight Simulator 3 - when I minimize FreeTrack, the camera is not functioning in the game.

Thanks for your help!

Hello everybody. First let me say like many others that FreeTrack is so cool!
Second I'm glad I followed slaver1's advice and bought a ps3 eye (the old version still on shelves here if lucky  ) I improvised some... very ghetto emitting ir led and couldn't wait to see it in action. About the performance of the LED and eye I can only say that
- I haven't  (yet) removed the IR filter
- LED is working at half its power
- LED is blunted - less light but more homogeneous per view angle
- 1 piece of film
flawless detection.
First I was very disappointed of the 0.4 - 0.5 seconds delay:

1. between my movement and FT registering it in the black screen (like 0.3 sec)
2. between the black screen and the skull (like 0.15)

This was true before I came to see that I accidentally put 30 FPS at "Frame Rate" tab. Even when I was streaming at 60 FPS it was "slaved" to the Frame Rate tab.
As soon as I put in there 60 it went sooo smooth (decent overall ~0.25 sec). So I realized that FPS is of critical importance (but it has the CPU load downside)
That's why I said I was glad I followed slaver1's advice ;)

At 60 stream I get alternating 59 with 60 FPS and 000 JPS. CPU load = 10%. BTW I have Win XP SP3, dual core 2.2 GHz, 3.2 GB RAM, GeForce GT 440 512 MB RAM (reported 1024 in Win)
Now I want to tighten the delay further as much as possible. It still feels a little draggy so are there any tips about lag? Even if it's obvious, don't hesitate to suggest it: FT settings, mountings etc.

I also had great success with an unmodified PS3 Eye as noted in this previous post!

Sorry to bother anyone, but I cannot download the fix from the link provided at the top of this thread. Can anyone provide an alternate site to get this fix?

Thanks

shiki

EDIT: Nvm folks. Shortly after posting this I finally got through. Thanks all the same.

slaver1 @ 29/03/2010 - 21h37 a dit:

This fixing hang when you press start button. You will see some bug but at last it is working now on windows 7 x64 and XP.

Short howto:

1. Get ps3eye ;)
2. Download and install CLeye driver from: http://codelaboratories.com/downloads/
3. Uninstal previously instaled freetrack.
4. Download and unpack fix from: http://www.sendspace.com/file/2stcof
5. Install freetrack 2.2.0.279 but NOT start yet.
6. Copy files from unpacked fix to freetrack main folder (overwrite).
7. Start freetrack as administrator.

Try to change camera properties when freetrack is running.
It may solve similiar problem on other cam.

I tried downloading the fix that is number 4 in your list above, but all I got was a ton load of add-on's and my home page on my brouser was hijacked.  Can you help me to find the fix to download?

I had the Mic working following the registry edit advised earlier in this thread but since updating to CL-Eye-Driver-5.0.1.0528.exe yesterday I can't get it working anymore.

The registry edit hasn't been overwritten by the driver install so it's not that.

EDIT: I tried rebooting, but I had to unplug and replug the camera and now it's working. I use a powered hub so I guess it needed to be power-cycled.
