I have my cam (Wiimote) on top of my screen (connected with velcro), not centred, but in line with my clip (on my right ear). The dots in free-track are in the center.
Don't forget to adjust your positions from your head-pivot in the model-tab, it could be negative or positive, depends on where the clip is (left or right) for horizontal position.
Just play with it in a game/simulation in windowed mode, so you can adjust these setting and see if your head movement is natural.

Don't know if anyone can help.
A long time ago I got some IR LED's SFH485p but never got around to doing anything with them.
The problem is now that when I try to find out the values for these I get different results and I don't have a clue where I purchased them.
RS give different vales than Furnell.uk so I don't know what resistors to get.
I would like to try doing a USB powered version but also get some other resistors for a battery version as I have enough IR LED's.
The other thing is trying to identify the resistors on the site as the colours don't seem to match the ones illustrated here.
Can anyone put me on the right track please?

About the different values of the SFH485P, use 1.5 Vf (3 Vf is only used in pulsating circuits) and use 50-75 mA for current) (max. is 100).

Just a wild Idea would it be possible to use 1 IR_LED and then use fiber optic cable to transmit the signal.

Theoretically this should work if you can split 1 source of light to 3 points (end of fiber cable) of 5 mm. But pratically .....?
It's easier to use 3 normal leds and connect them with wire.

Hello this is my first time here and I am interested in using Freetrack for my video games, I can understand the soldering and lighting up the LED lights but how do I construct a 3 point clip? Is there any specific measurements for it because I am not sure how long the measurements for it have to be, is there a guide on making a 3 point clip? Also if I am using the Quick Cam Orbit on this page(http://www.free-track.net/english/hardware/webcam.php#Logitech) would it be fine to just use these infrared LED lights as long as I have three layers of photo film over the camera?

I have little experience with electronics but am confident about building free track thanks to this guide, however I was wondering if the resistors can be taped over.
Just waiting for my battery holder to arrive before I can assemble now.

Yes you selected the right parts .... but you have to use an external on/off switch, because Farnell has no battery-holder with switches? I ordered my battery with switch here : click - dutch store
@Chunk3ym4n: use isolated wire ca. 0.15 mm or use telephoneline-cable / cable from old mouse .... etc.

If you live in the USA then the place to go is Radio Shack. They have the high intensity IR LEDs (.2V 100ma I think), resistors (though I could only find 33ohm 1/2watt - they seem to be working fine), wire, battery holder, soldering iron, etc.
